Alchemy Hub
Pre-liveConsultancy siteLine 03
A consultancy with a great deal to say, and a website platform that made saying it expensive.
Overview
Alchemy Hub is a business-growth consultancy whose website carries services, client stories, a team, an events programme, a blog and a podcast. The site ran on a page-builder, which is a good answer to a much smaller question. We rebuilt it as a full site with each kind of content modelled properly, delivered on our own preview address so the client could walk through all of it while their live site carried on working.
The challenge
The content had outgrown the container: services, stories, events and episodes all want to behave differently, and on a page-builder they are all just pages.
Publishing had friction, because the platform had no idea what a service or an episode was.
Nobody could gamble the live site on a rebuild that had to be right first time.
The approach
Model the content: a service, a story, an event and an episode as four shapes with four behaviours.
Keep the client's own photography and information architecture; give them somewhere better to live.
Deliver the whole thing as a working site on a preview address, not a design to approve.
What we built
Content model
Adding the next service, story, event or episode is filling in a form, not rebuilding a page.
Design system
Editorial layout and real typographic hierarchy, built for them rather than chosen from a menu.
Preview delivery
Every route browsable at a RoodtSquared address, updating from the main branch, next to the live site for comparison.
Technologies and integrations
React and TypeScript
Structured content
Netlify preview deployment
What changed
Outcome: The client can walk through a complete, working replacement for their website before deciding anything. Their own site remains their production website; this build has not replaced it.
Supporting evidence
Pre-live. Delivered on a RoodtSquared preview address; not yet launched on the client's domain.
No screenshots or client claims are published until the client agrees them.
